STEM Early College High School students Defranco Sarabia and Ramon Orendain collected thank you cards for local police officers in honor of National Police Week, celebrated May 14 – 18.
More than 200 thank you notes were collected in a blue bucket, each containing words of appreciation from teachers, students, staff and community members.
For Defranco, the thank you cards are just a small token of gratitude for all that they do to protect the community.
“We want to show our appreciation,” he said. “The SAPD serves the community, so this is just a way for us to say thank you.”
Defranco thanks everyone who participated and hopes to do it again in the future.
