Superintendent's Message

Thank you students, parents, teachers, employees and Board of Trustees for making the 2016-2017 school year a great success. Congratulations to the graduates from Frank Tejeda Academy, McCollum High School and Harlandale High School. Our graduates who do not receive the Pell Grant are eligible for a $1,250 scholarship through the Harlandale Education Foundation.  Those who do receive the Pell Grant will be awarded $625.  These scholarships are available in large part due to the generosity of Harlandale ISD employees along with a friend of Harlandale, who matches dollar for dollar each employee’s contribution.

STEM Early College High School is currently accepting applications from incoming freshmen interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Submission deadline is Aug. 4. STEM Early College High School gives students the opportunity to earn up to 60 hours of college credit and an associate’s degree before they even graduate high school.

Students enrolling next school year will be required to comply with the No Shots, No School policy, as required by state law.  The University Health System’s Children’s Clinic at Collier Elementary is operating on a modified schedule this summer. The Clinic at Collier, located at 834 W. Southcross, provides immunizations, physical exams, Well Child checkups, minor acute care, sports physicals, medication prescriptions, and health education on nutrition, disease and injury prevention. To make an appointment, call 358-TALK (8255).

The first day of school will be August 28.  Please check the district website for updates on back-to-school information, including immunization requirements and school supply lists.
